I’m very pleased to report that my firm, Davis Law Group, is a sponsor of Kent and Alan’s “Bikes for Kids” program on Seattle’s Star 101.5 FM.
Each weekday morning during the month of April, Star 101.5 radio DJ’s Kent and Alan give away a FREE bike to one child. And during the months of May through October, a free bike is given away every Wednesday. That’s more than 40 free bikes given away!
I remember as a child when I received my first bike, and how excited I was to ride it in my neighborhood. So when Star 101.5 gave my law firm the opportunity to help create that same experience in other children, and especially with those kids whose parents could not afford a bike on their own, I simply could not pass it up!
Along with a brand new bike, each child also gets a free bike helmet. The parents of each child also get a free copy of my book, “Little Kids, Big Accidents,” which addresses child injury claims and how best to avoid them. The book also advises parents on how to deal with the insurance company if there’s an accident.
As many people know, I have taken a special interest in making sure children are safe. I see too many child accident cases in my office. Most could have easily been prevented. Parents, please make sure your child wears a helmet while riding a bike at all times. And teach your child to avoid busy streets and intersections. And always have your child wear clothing or reflectors to make sure they are easily seen by drivers. Thank you Star 101.5!

Think I came across a free bike giveway spot while channel hopping last week. Wanted to double check that this is only for kids.
I recently purchased a Gary Fisher Big Sur Mtn. bike off of Craig’s List. I entered my first ever triathlon, and though this isn’t a road bike, it seemed light weight and fit me very well. I spent WEEKS going over the ads, talking with some people and waiting for the right bike, as most were out of my price range. So when I found this one around the 4th of July I was thrilled. Anyway, that Wednesday night I went to bed and forgot to close the garage doors- guess the heat and recent longer work weeks tuckered me out. Needless to say, my bike was stolen. I am now 2 weeks away from my triathlon and no bike.
So, just thought I’d put my sad story out there and see. Thanks for listening. I’ve posted signs and filed a police report, but I figure its gone for good.
