Bremerton, Washington
On February 1, 2009, it was reported by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office that a 3-year-old child was killed while the child’s mother was backing up a truck. Reports were that the mother went outside to the truck, and the child followed without the mother’s knowledge. The toddler climbed into the bed of the truck before it sped off. Then the child fell off the back and was severely injured. The child later died.
This is just a horrible, horrible accident. I have a 4 year-old child, and I just can’t imagine this happening. I really feel bad for the child’s mother. I know she must be devastated. I know I would be. My heart goes out to this grieving family, and I pray that they have the strength to overcome this terrible tragedy.

That boy is my son, his names is Bret Micheal Herrmann. It is 15-oct-09 today would be his fourth birthday, I would like to say thank you for your prayers and hope that this never happens again. I set ballons loose for him so he knows I’m still thinking of him. His brather and sister had a birthday party for him in Grand Junction CO with his grandparents and many other family members. He is still with me. I feel him when I am lonely and when I think I cant go any more. These days I now know will always be hard, but with the support of friends and family we will move forward and curry his memory.
Dear Mr. Herrmann,
Thank you for your response. I’m sorry for the delay, but I’m actually just now reading your comment.
I can’t tell you how sorry I am for your loss. This tragic event hits very close to home for me. I have a 4 year old boy and I just can’t imagine how devastated my wife and I would be if something like this happened to him. I can only imagine how terribly painful this loss has been for you and your family.
Again, my heart goes out to you and your family for your terrible loss. I know that your boy’s memory will stay with each of you forever. Please again accept my prayers and wishes that you and your family will learn to cope in a way that will at least help you begin to recover from such a painful and tragic event.
My best regards to you and your family,
Chris
